Euna Lee and Lisa Ling sentenced to 12 years in North Korean Labor Prison

As most of us know about the situation concerning the two Asian American journalists in the media recently, North Korea is definitely playing a strategic policy game with the United States. And they are winning! Friends and Family should not only express the urgency of their release to the secretary department, but they should also persaude South Korea and China to intervene and assist the US in negotiations with North Korea. After all, one journalist is of South Korean decent and the other of Chinese decent. These countries have to start opening their eyes and see that this standoff does only effect the United States but everyone involved.

20th Anniversary of Tiananmen (We will never forget)

In June of 1989 student protesters were shot down by government military in Beijing. The now infamous "tank man" image has been made known globally by videos and photographs captured during that tragic day. On its 20th anniversary today (Thursday) or yesterday if going by China time, the government has yet acknowledged wrong doing or offered remembrance for the fallen in an effort to bury the existence of the event ever happening.

How stupid can the Chinese government really be? Doing this can only hurt them and continue to stifle their progress as a world economic power as well as being respected around globe. I began this blog to promote Asian lifestyle, arts, entertainment news and I wish to be open and candid about every subject I discuss including politics.

I am a Chinese American and extremely proud of my Chinese heritage and upbringing. It is frustrating to see the country of my forebearers come this far in history and governance, taking steps forward in creating a prosperous future for the Chinese people, then turn around and take 10 steps back. As a Chinese American living in New York City I see signs about 9/11 with the signage that says "We will never forget". New York City is my home where I was born and raised and I will not and would not want to forget that day.

I am sure the Chinese people in Beijing and around the world for that mater, feel the same way about that summer day in Tiananmen Square where soldiers and tanks murdered innocent young adults trying to make their voices heard. The time has arrived for the Chinese government/regime/whatever you want to call it, should set aside their traditional pride and mourn with their people. Wake up!!!
